This site got its start in early 2004. Everyone I talked with liked looking at professionally painted models as well as additional figure repaints and mods. The problem was, there was no one specific place to go to to see well painted models. The sites that did showcase painted models were scattered around, only had a few pics, and the quality of the paint jobs were, well... lacking.
At this point I would've been happy to step up to the plate, except for the fact that I really don't like collectible games, and I wasn't sure the figs were actually worth painting. The Mage Knight Painter's Edition interested me, but I didn't want to pay out for Mage Knight figures...
Finally, with the closure of Wizards of the Coast and Gamekeeper stores I was able to purchase a large quantity of Mage Knight Painter's Edition boosters at an incredible discount. This gave me the excuse I needed to start painting. Even better, even though I purchase 15 boosters (75 figures) when I counted up the figures, I found I had 77 figures. Hey, free swag!
Obviously someone up there likes me, and this site was born.
Since then I've worked hard to make this site a great showcase for painted figures. I've added tutorials on how to paint models and articles on cheap and easy ways to create terrain for your own gaming table.
